Hey There
Welcome To Maye.Be Take A Photo
All about love & adventure, no matter what that looks like for you. I’d be thrilled to go the extra mile (literally or figuratively) to capture your moments, big and small. I promise to treat your memories as if they were my own.

About Me
The Girl Behind The Camera(s)
Hey there! I’m Samantha Maye and I’m a Colorado-based Wedding and Elopement Photographer. I started photography to better document my life, my relationship, my dog, and my travels. But I quickly fell in love with photography and found a deep passion for capturing other people’s important moments. I’d be thrilled to document your memories for you, whatever that looks like.
My favorite thing about being a photographer is that I get to help plan and photograph amazing adventures. I especially love hiking elopements, traveling to new places, anything in Rocky Mountain National Park, and epic portraits under the stars.
Why Have A Colorado Elopement?
Colorado is an adventure lover’s dream come true. The state is filled with gorgeous alpine lakes, stunning mountain peaks, and beautiful wildflower meadows—giving you a variety of options for picture-perfect backdrops for your Colorado elopement. We can plan a day full of activities (think hiking, off-roading, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, skiing, ziplining) or a relaxing, intimate day (think watching a sunset, going to a brewery, sitting by a campfire and making s’mores, enjoying the evening in a hot spring or hot tub)—or create the perfect mix of both! A Colorado elopement is a great choice if you want killer views as the backdrop for your day, whether you want to adventure to your wedding or drive up to an accessible spot. Colorado has it all—and I know where to go no matter what you want your day to look like. An added plus to how gorgeous the state is, Colorado is also a self-solemnization state, meaning the only people who need to be at your elopement are you and your partner. You don’t need an officiant, and you don’t need witnesses—unless you want them! You could even have your pet sign your marriage license.

The Difference Between A Wedding, A Micro-Wedding, & An Elopement
Wedding (n.): A marriage ceremony, usually with its accompanying festivities. A wedding is typically a long day, full of families and friends and celebration. The couple usually rents a venue and has a ceremony and then a reception. There are a lot of different ways to customize your wedding day to reflect you and your partner.
Micro-Wedding (n.): An in-between—an intimate affair with your favorite people. This is a great option if a big wedding doesn’t feel right, but you still want some people there to celebrate with you on the day of your wedding. There is a lot of flexibility for you to choose what traditional or non-traditional wedding activities you do or do not include in your day.
Elopement (n.): An act or instance of running off, as to be married. An elopement can truly be whatever you want it to be, whether it is just the two of you or you decide to include your closest family or friends. It doesn’t necessarily have to be secret, but an elopement typically has intense focus on the couple instead of large traditional wedding activities.
No matter what your day will look like, wedding or elopement, if you are really freaking in love with each other I’m gonna be thrilled to be there. I want the day your marriage starts to be 100% perfect for you—so it doesn’t matter to me if that means having all your friends and family surrounding you or if it means y’all are the only ones for miles.
More Than “Just” Your Colorado Elopement Photographer

Planning & Coordination
I’ve helped plan a variety of weddings and elopements, so I know all the factors that go into your event and can make sure they all come together perfectly.

Location Suggestions & Scouting
I’m very familiar with a wide variety of locations in Colorado and Utah, and I’m always scouting for new ones. I use many different tools to locate ideal places, and I have the knowledge and experience to know what the light will be like at different times of day. I’ve also traveled all over the United States, and I’m always excited to go somewhere new and take amazing photos.

Timeline & Activities
We can sit down together and talk through all of the details of your day, how long each activity will take, and figure out where we need to be when. This will not only help your day run smoothly, but will also help us get the most amazing photos possible because I will make sure to plan for location and lighting. I can also make suggestions for activities to make your day perfect for you and your partner—whether that involves lots of adventuring or lots of relaxing.

Vendor Recommendations
Finding a lot of vendors can be overwhelming and stressful. If you want help finding someone, I’ve got it down to a science, and if I don’t personally know a vendor you need, I know where to go to find one!
Bold, Colorful, & Adventurous Colorado Elopement Photographer
Bold
“showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous”
I’ve always been someone to chase what I want instead of waiting for it to come to me. I’m confident in my abilities, and I’m willing to take risks. Being bold is also reflected in my photography, not only through me going the extra mile to get “out there” photos but also through my posing/positioning and editing.
Colorful
“full of interest; lively and exciting”
I’m a very bubbly, outgoing person. I enjoy getting to know other people and chatting about life experiences. I’ll match your energy, and try to bring some oomph to the day. I’m also a person that LOVES color. I like to think that my “vibe” is a wildflower- bright and colorful, growing somewhere amazing, bringing joy to other people. I view the world as a very colorful place, and that is reflected in my editing.
Adventurous
“willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, or experiences”
I love getting to experience new things, trying new hobbies, and pushing my limits. I never thought I’d be an outdoorsy elopement photographer, but because I allowed myself to grow and try new things I found my calling. I love getting to go hike new trails, off-road to new places, and experience all Colorado has to offer. As such, I’d be thrilled to capture whatever adventure you are embarking on! Photography has allowed me to go further and try so many new things- I’d love to adventure with you.
